International partners of the University support Ukraine

Since the first days of the full-scale war by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University has been getting lots of letters from foreign partners every day.

First of all, it is worth noting that some of the letters are written in Ukrainian. We are sincerely glad that the Ukrainian language and the Ukrainian word are being heard around the world today.

In particular, such letters were received by Vojtěch Petráček, a rector of the Czech Technical University, and Krzysztof Koszewski, a dean of the Faculty of Architecture of Warsaw University of Technology.

“The CTU and the CTU Academic Senate condemn the military aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of the sovereign state of Ukraine. We regret all related losses to human lives, dignity and property. We express our solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine and declare our intention to help students and teachers at Ukrainian universities,” Vojtěch Petráček said in his letter.

“We are watching the situation in Ukraine closely, paying attention to the actions of the Russian Federation that the citizens of Ukraine have to endure. First of all, we want to assure you that we provide and will provide all possible support,” colleagues wrote from Warsaw University of Technology.

The Polish Academy of Sciences has opened a special fund to support Ukrainian researchers who have crossed or are planning to cross the border with Poland. It was announced in his letter by Mateusz Białas, Acting Head of the Polish Academy of Sciences Representative Office in Kyiv.

The aid package was offered by Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk (Republic of Poland). The support program “Pomeranian Academy for Ukraine” provides, in particular, assistance for students and teachers, psychological and social support.

“We are deeply moved and shocked by the war crimes committed by Russia on the territory of Ukraine. On behalf of our institution, we provide full moral and institutional support to our partners in Ukraine. At the individual level, we have mobilized our partner networks to sign petitions, condemn the aggressor and aggression, directly help groups seeking help, and so on. We have written letters to Global institutions and key international organizations to put pressure on Russia to the unconditional cessation of hostilities,” Dr. Hasrat Arjjumend, Founder President & Programs Director of the Grassroots Institute (Canada), said in the letter.

Our University community expresses its sincere gratitude to our foreign colleagues for their clear and uncompromising position regarding the Russian aggression in Ukraine and for their concrete actions aimed at helping Ukraine and our academic community.
