Research interests: the theoretical and practical problems of the exercise of power by people in certain constitutional and other forms of direct democracy in Ukraine and foreign countries; the problems of the theory and practice of constitutionalism and state building, the test legislative sphere, comparative law; legal political science; geopolitics,

analysis and forecasting of policy, national security, formation and implementation of public policy, legal foundations of public   administration

Derevianko, Serhii is the author and co-author of more than 220 scientific and educational works on political science, constitutional law, political history of Ukraine, historiography and source studies, some of which are published abroad.

1998 – awarded Ph.D. degree in historical sciences  by the decision of Higher Attestation Commission of 21 May 1998.
